To continue to protect our guests and venue we will retain our NHS QR code poster and maintain our "logbook" containing guests contact details.

Safer Stays Principles

Buffs Old Barn has adopted the following principles - as guided by Visit England - for your reassurance regarding the cleanliness of your accommodation.

  1. Cleaners wear adequate PPE

Cleaning is undertaken with PPE equipment a following training to enable safe working and to correct guidance (minimum face mask & gloves).

  2. Main Surfaces and items are sanitised

Anti-viral disinfectant is used to sanitise all surfaces including worktops, tables, the welcome folder, remote controls, switches, sockets, cords, door & widow handles, thermostats, plugs & appliances.

  3. Non-essential items have been removed

Items that are difficult to clean have been temporarily removed. These include, books, board games, children’s toys, surplus crockery, the hair dryer, cushions, throws and umbrella’s.

  4. Extra cleaning Time allowed

Guest check out will be by 9am and check in will be after 5.00pm to allow for extra cleaning time. Anti-viral disinfectants need at least 1hr to dry & air in the property once the cleaners leave.

  5. Guest reassurance

This practice will remain in the Barn during Covid -19 restrictions to reassure guests of the additional care & attention we take when cleaning the property.

  6. Guest safety during stay

Liquid soap and an anti-bacterial hand sanitiser is provided for guests to use during their stay.
  7. Report & Manage Infection cases

We will adhere to Government guidelines on reporting and managing potential infection cases.

To ensure that guests feel comfortable and not pressured into ‘contact’ situations, social distancing has become a staple Covid-19 pandemic response.

Social Distancing Principles

  1.  Safer arrival and departure processes

Guest arrival, key collection and key drop from a safe distance. Keys are classed as a high touch item and will be sanitised appropriately.

Guest will be greeted by the owner who will wear a face mask & gloves. Conversations about Guests needs will be held at the required social distance appropriate at the time.

  2. Shared Facility usage

    1. The only shared facilities on the site of Buffs Old Barn used by both the owners and guests are the grey recycling waste bin (with a blue lid) and the green garden & household green waste bin. The bin lid & contact surfaces will be sanitised at every changeover and after emptying. Please wash your hands after lifting the lid when you disposing of your waste.

    2. All guests whether family or friends must make appropriate decisions about how they share and social distance inside the property if they are from more than 2 households.

If we remain diligent of these principles everyone will have a lovely holiday.
